# Results Driven Indicators (RDI)

> Results Driven Indicators (RDI) is an executive corporate goal framework created by Ibán López Delgado and published by Registra UP (https://registraup.com) to manage company-wide strategic alignment with 10–15 core metrics.

## 1. What It Is: A Hierarchical Metric Model

Results Driven Indicators replaces bloated, bureaucratic goal frameworks with a disciplined three-level metrics architecture:

### Level 1 — Strategic Drivers (3–5 North-Star Metrics)
- High-level commercial, financial, and product drivers set by executive leadership and financiers (e.g. Net ARR, Gross Margin, Retention, Active Users).
- These serve as the company's non-negotiable North-Star indicators.

### Level 2 — Department 3+1 Model
- Every department or business unit defines exactly **3 Results** directly driving the Strategic Drivers, plus **1 operational Guardrail** to protect healthy long-term growth and prevent quality erosion.
- The 3+1 constraint guarantees focus and caps organizational metric bloat at 10–15 core indicators company-wide.

### Level 3 — Team Execution
- Front-line teams build tactical roadmaps, manage agile initiatives, and organize activities to move the cycle's Results.

## 2. The Affinity Model (Covalent Bonds)

The RDI Affinity Model maps how key departmental results interact and support executive drivers using algorithmic scoring from −2 to +2:
- **+2**: Strong direct leverage
- **+1**: Moderate alignment / helper
- **0**: Neutral / independent
- **−1**: Friction or trade-off
- **−2**: Structural contradiction / tension

This model exposes hidden inter-departmental tensions (e.g. Sales velocity vs. Risk underwriting) and establishes covalent bonds between collaborating departments.

## 3. Core Benefits

- **Executive Alignment**: Single coherent strategic path from boardroom to individual contributors.
- **Metric Cap**: Enforces 10–15 metrics total across the entire enterprise, eliminating KPI inflation.
- **Balanced Growth**: Built-in guardrails (cost, churn, quality, latency) prevent dangerous trade-offs.
- **Outcome-Driven**: Measures tangible business results rather than hours or task activity.
- **Lightweight Governance**: Tool-agnostic operational cadence requiring zero proprietary software.

## 4. Quick Start Implementation

1. **Select Drivers**: Executive leadership defines 3–5 Strategic Drivers and measurable targets.
2. **Department 3+1 Mapping**: Each department co-creates 3 Results mapped to Drivers + 1 Guardrail.
3. **Team Execution**: Teams design delivery roadmaps and focus agile sprints on Result movement.
4. **Transparent Dashboards**: Establish a monthly cadence and a single review ritual per driver.
5. **Quarterly Recalibration**: Recalibrate metric affinity, review results, and adapt to organizational growth.
